Introduction

At Tunelark, we know you care about your personal information, so we have prepared this privacy policy (our “Privacy Policy”) to explain how we collect, use and and protect your personal information when you use our website and services (collectively, the “Service”). By using or accessing the Service, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

We collect personal information when you register, create a profile, or use our Service. This may include your name, email address, phone number, payment information, and (if you are an instructor choosing to link your Google Calendar) your Google Calendar data. We also collect non-personal information, such as your IP address, browser type, and usage patterns, through cookies and other tracking technologies.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve our Service, communicate with you, customize your experience, conduct research, and display targeted advertisements. Tunelark’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures, such as 128-bit SSL encryption, firewalls, and hardware monitoring, to protect your personal information. However, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

Managing Your Personal Information

You can access, correct, delete, or modify your personal information in your account settings. You can unsubscribe from promotional emails and adjust your location and cookie settings through your device and browser settings. The Service does not support “Do Not Track” requests.

California Residents

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, such as the right to know, the right to delete, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To request access to or deletion of your personal information, contact team@tunelark.com.

Children and Our Services

Our Service offers lessons to students of all ages, including children under 13 years of age. Accounts for children under 13 must be created and managed by their parents or guardians. When creating an account for a child, we only collect the child’s name or username provided by the parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect any other personally identifiable information from children under 13.

Parents or guardians are responsible for managing their child’s account using the credentials provided. They can review, modify, or delete the child’s name or username by logging into their child’s account. If you have concerns about your child’s account or believe they have provided personal information without consent, please contact us.

By using the Service, you confirm that you are the parent or guardian of any child under 13 for whom you create an account and consent to our collection and use of the child’s name or username as described in this Privacy Policy.

School Teacher Product and Student Accounts

Our Service offers a free school teacher product allowing teachers to create online classrooms, student accounts, assign educational games, and track student progress. When a teacher creates a student account, they provide the student’s name, and a username is generated for the student. We do not knowingly collect any other personally identifiable information from students through this product.

Teachers are responsible for obtaining the necessary consent from the students’ parents or guardians before creating accounts for students under 13 years of age. By using the school teacher product, you confirm that you have obtained the required consent and agree to our collection and use of the student’s name and generated username as described in this Privacy Policy.

If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns about your child’s account created by their teacher or believe their personal information has been provided without consent, please contact us.

Privacy Policy Changes

We reserve the right to change or update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on the site, and the effective date will be indicated at the top of the document.

International Users

The Service is hosted in the United States and is governed by United States law. By using the Service, you consent to your information being transferred to our facilities and to the facilities of those third parties with whom we share it as described in this Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Services

Our Service may include links to third-party websites, services, or teachers. These third parties have their privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. Tunelark is not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our Service or fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. When we no longer need your personal information, we will securely delete or anonymize it.

Data Portability

In some jurisdictions, you may have the right to request a copy of your personal information in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format. To exercise this right, please contact us at team@tunelark.com.
