Acoustic or electric guitar, which should I start with?
Both work well. Acoustic builds hand strength and needs no extra gear. Electric has lighter strings and lower action, which some find physically easier. Choose based on the music you want to play.
Do I need to learn music theory to play guitar?
Not to start. You can learn songs with chord charts and tabs without theory knowledge. Theory becomes valuable as you progress. It helps you understand why things work and learn new material faster.
Can adults learn guitar from scratch?
Absolutely. Many Tunelark guitar students are adults starting from zero. Adults are often more focused and self-directed, which helps. What matters more is showing up consistently, since a short session most days beats one long session a week.
How often should I take lessons?

What if my fingertips hurt when I practice?
This is normal for the first few weeks. Steel strings build calluses over 2–4 weeks of regular play. Practicing short daily sessions gets you through this phase faster than occasional long ones.
